Jamie Drye is originally from North Carolina where he began his dance training at Western Carolina University. After receiving his BA in Dance Performance at Winthrop University in Rock Hill S.C, he joined Caroline Calouche & Company, where he performed for two seasons and remains an adjunct dancer. Later he performed with Annex Dance Company, and trained and apprenticed with Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company in New York City. Additionally he has appeared in Asheville Ballet’s Porgy and Bess, and CPCC’s Celestial Tapestries. A teaching artist, he has taught all over the southeast including; SC Dance Festival, Sensoria Festival, Fascinating Rhythms, St-Arts, Elements of Dance, and Manna House Workshops; also in residence at Central Academy of Technology and Arts, Winthrop University, Shenandoah University, and Johnson C. Smith University. In addition to his professional dance career, Jamie teaches Dance Fitness at Crunch and Equinox Fitness Gyms, which are currently the leading fitness facilities in the Country. Crunch Gym selected Jamie as a lead instructor for its partnership with Broadway shows ‘Rocky’ and ‘Motown the Musical’. Jamie currently resides in New York City working as a choreographer, dance educator, dance fitness Instructor, and is now the co-founder and co- artistic director of the Drye/ Marinara Dance Company in Stroudsburg, PA.
LaShawn Jones began her dance training at the age of 3 in Monroe, NC studying tap, jazz and ballet. She joined two dance groups while attending UNC Chapel Hill where she received a B.A. in Exercise Sport Science. Upon graduation LaShawn began teaching Hip Hop in Durham, NC, working in clinical research and obtained her Master of Public Health degree. She is among the prestigious staff of the National Dance Alliance, American Dance Festival and Korea Dance Festival in Seoul, South Korea where she offered the first Hip Hop classes. She attended the Broadway Dance Center 2010 Summer internship training where she studied under world renowned faculty and choreographers. Shortly after leaving her clinical research job and relocating to New York in 2011 to pursue her passion of dance and fitness, she joined Kelly Peters Dance Company under the direction of Kelly Peters and has performed in New York City and Martha’s Vineyard. In addition to dance, LaShawn became a group fitness instructor in 2005. Upon relocating to New York, she began teaching fitness classes at Equinox, Crunch, corporate clients and many other facilities offering Zumba, Bokwa, Pound, Cardio Dance and strength classes to name a few. She created Urban Attitude, a dance fitness class based on the foundation of Hip Hop and co-created strength class based on the Winter Games for Crunch Gym. Urban Attitude is one of the chosen formats offered online in a 30 minute class through the Crunch Live website. LaShawn has been seen on Good Morning America, The Today Show, FOX news, Dr. Oz and USA Today to name a few.
