What is KD, and what results do people get after the program?
The Karada Detox Program is a food based approach to creating a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Originally created in Japan, “karada” simply means “body” in Japanese. KD is not a diet or a “cleanse”. It’s a lifestyle change. What we aim to achieve with our clients is increased energy, balanced weight, clear skin and disease prevention through consistency. When it comes to nutrition, our daily practices are what get us to our goals.
Mari Kuroda Bio
Mari Kuroda is a certified holistic health counselor at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, certified Zumba Instructor, a vegetable sommelier at “Vegetable Sommelier Association” in Japan, and head of operations at Karada Detox New York and Karada Detox Japan. Mari moved to the United States as an exchange student when she was 16 years old from Osaka Japan. She studied English in Seattle and Hawaii and received her degree in Network Engineering in New York City. Always wanting to improve her health she started eating a diet rich in natural fruits and vegetables. The results were absolutely amazing for both her body and mind. It was this path of natural living that inspired her to change her life and career. Wanting to work directly with people, she left the computer world to become a holistic health counselor and eventually established the Karada Detox to coach people on improving their diets and lifestyle. With her motto being “If we’re going to be successful, we MUST have FUN!” she went on to become a certified Zumba® instructor, and now produces exciting Zumba® workout videos with Karada Detox. Being bilingual, she coaches clients in New York, Japan, and Sweden. Her goal is to motivate people all over the world to be Healthy, Sexy and Happy.
Michael Perrine Bio
Michael Perrine is a detoxification consultant, certified colon hydro therapist, certified holistic health counselor and the founder of Gravity East Village, a cleansing and detoxification consulting office in New York City. Over the last ten years, Michael has performed over 18,000 colonic irrigations and supervised thousands of people through various methods of internal cleansing including fasting, colon cleansing and liver flushing. Michael has also studied natural food preparation, nutritional science and diet philosophy at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food & Health & The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Michael is also an instructor at the Natural Gourmet Institute and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Prior to working as a health counselor he worked for eight years as a natural foods chef at Angelica Kitchen in New York City. His desserts and food have been featured in Time Out New York, Vegetarian Times, The Modern Vegetarian Kitchen, and The Angelica Home Kitchen. He is a regular contributor to top fitness and lifestyle blogs including Bexlife.com, CrazySexyLife and The Raw Divas. Michael is also a co-creator of the Karada Detox program (Japan).
